Mission Clinton 2011
Mission Clinton and Teacher Warehouse were two of the five featured organization in the recent Missouri Community Betterment presentation for the state of Missouri. The city of Clinton literally sweep the awards in 2011, winning all categories and the overall City Of the Year Award. It is estimated that Mission Clinton has contributed a value of over $250,000 back into the community. The New Clothing Distribution Ministry has given more than $120,000 in New With Tag cloths back to our community. Teacher Warehouse has given away more than $50,000 in supplies to the teachers in our area. In the 7 years of Angel Food, more than $750,000 in food was given away and more than 4,000,000 in savings was seen.
Mission Clinton is a 501(c)3 not for profit, non-religious organization that has a goal of "Neighbor Helping Neighbor". If you have a need, if you would like to help, or if you would like to donate items or even money, please contact us. We are excited about coordinating this incredible venture. Literally, we are hoping to "Change the face of Clinton in Jesus' Name."
To often we have this feeling that the only real mission trip is a mission trip where to go somewhere else to serve other people. ABC is taking that misconception and tossing it to the wind. Mission Clinton is a ministry to help meet the needs of those within our community. If you or someone you know has a need around the house or yard, let us know by emailing us at abcclinton@gmail.com or calling us at 660-351-6372. We will have someone contact you to see if there is anything at all that we can do to help.
Mission Clinton is seeking to establish a clearing house to recycle all sorts of things. This is different than many of the services that we currently have in our town. We support and give to them regularly. In many cases individuals and families have to apply, meet qualifications and produce documents. We need this to help the vast majority of those with needs. But we also have immediate needs that may fall through the cracks and may not meet qualifications. We wish help fill in some gaps.
For example: this week we have had two different phone calls from individuals who have been able to secure a place to live but actually have nothing to put in the house. Literally nothing. We have been able to help a little, but we are in our infancy. We are working to develop connections and working relationships with companies and corporations and individuals to meet needs.
We can use a wide variety of items: Furniture Appliances Clothing Food used decks and decking materials building supplies painting supplies If you have it in your home, someone could probably use it too.
We want to help with minor repairs, cleaning, painting, and more. Not only do we want to meet needs, we want to allow you to help too. As a clearinghouse, we are not trying to do this on our own, we need to work with one another to reinvest in our town. You can make a different. We want to bring our town together to meet the needs of our town.
